Chemical silver
Chemical silver surfaces are similar to chemical tin surfaces but they have better properties as to contact appliances and oxidation.
PROS:
- pads are totally planar
- suitable for fine pitch applications
- better shelf life than chemical tin (approx. 6 – 12 months)
- multiple soldering is possible
- high acceptance in the USA
CONS:
- not very popular
- sensitive surface due to a small layer thickness of 0,2µm Ag
